Grow Through Every Challenge, Flourish in Every Moment
We believe that everyone's experience with stress is different, which is why it is important to me to gain an understanding of your stressors and how they are affecting areas of your life. It is at that point that we decide the best approach to help achieve therapy goals. Commonly, we use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Problem-Solving Therapy(PST), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Strength Based approaches to assist with overcoming life stressors
Our Approach
When it comes to setting goals, it is our intention to follow the client's lead. While exploring goals, we take the opportunity to define goals and ensure they are achievable and relevant to stressors. Ways to measure success toward goals are assessed regularly to gauge progress and tweak approach.
Therapy Goals
Choosing Waterbloom Therapy
Our typical clients are adult professionals whose symptoms of depression and anxiety are not only affecting work and innovation but also impacting other areas of their lives (relationships, daily living, self-esteem, and social activities). We enjoy helping others gain insight and develop skills to help put the puzzle together. Coming to therapy is one of the first steps to becoming the best version of yourself. Feeling overwhelmed, worried, unmotivated, or just plain stuck, it's important to know that there is light on the other side of the tunnel.
Common Approaches:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): is a psychotherapeutic approach that focuses on the interconnection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It aims to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and cognitive distortions that contribute to emotional distress and maladaptive behaviors.
Problem Solving Therapy (PST): is a goal-oriented approach designed to help individuals effectively address personal challenges and develop coping strategies. This therapeutic method focuses on enhancing an individual’s ability to analyze problems and implement practical solutions.
Motivational Interviewing (MI): is a client-centered counseling approach aimed at enhancing an individual's intrinsic motivation to change by exploring and resolving ambivalence. This method encourages clients to articulate their own reasons for change, set achievable goals, and develop actionable plans, ultimately empowering them to take ownership of their personal growth and transformation.
Strength-based therapy: is a therapeutic approach that focuses on an individual's inherent strengths and resources, rather than solely on their weaknesses or problems. This method encourages clients to identify and leverage their existing skills, resilience, and positive experiences to empower personal growth and transformation.
